The Permit Center page will provide you with general information and links to the processes and procedures for obtaining permits from the Planning and Public Works Division.

The RMA Building Department will no longer accept Deferred Submittals of any kind.
The practice of Deferred Fees has also been discontinued. Deferred fees are no longer allowed.
The practice previously known as Early Plan Check has been discontinued.
AT THIS TIME, SAN BENITO COUNTY DOES NOT ACCEPT THE FILING OF ANY TYPE OF PERMIT APPLICATION ONLINE. WE HOPE TO MAKE ONLINE APPLICATION FILINGS FOR MOST TYPES OF PERMITS AVAILABLE IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE. PLEASE CHECK BACK IN WITH US OFTEN!
The Permit Center is located in the Resource Management Agency Building located at 2301 Technologiy Parkway in Hollister, CA.

The Hours of Operation of the Building Services Permit Counter are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00 PST.
HOW TO OBTAIN A PERMIT
RMA Building Department Staff are available to assist customers in obtaining Bulding, Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical Permits.
Permits may be issued to the following individuals:
A Property Owner of a single family or duplex residence for work constructed onsite.
A licensed contractor.
A non-residential property owner, or a single family or commercial property.
